About Tarifa
Tarifa is located at the southernmost tip of Spain, between Gibraltar and Cadiz, and looks directly across the Strait of Gibraltar to the mountains of Morocco. It is a small, authentic Spanish town with a labyrinth of narrow white streets, a very colourful fishing harbor, a castle, and miles of really unspoilt, golden beaches. It is 1 hr. 40 minutes from the airports of both Malaga and Jerez; it is 40 minutes from Gibraltar airport. it is a two hour drive to Sevilla. The Roman ruins located in the beautiful bay of Bolonia are 25 minutes away.

It is seldom too hot. It is renowned as a high wind area, much loved by wind and kite surfers. There are some excellent small restaurants, an abundance of Spanish tapa bars, and fantastic picnic spots.
Tarifa is a paradise for the lovers of nature. Unspoiled beaches, a huge selection of migrating birds and in the straits plenty of dolphins and whales. The town is surrounded by unexplored mountains where you find free running horses, cows, goats, donkeys, sheep and pigs. It is a perfect place to be in tune with nature.

The nearby Natural Park Los Alcornocales is the world's largest cork forest. From here you can enjoy impressive views of the African Continent, which is only 14km away.

About La Casita
La Casita is located in an area called Paloma Baja (Punta Paloma) and is situated virtually on the beach exactly between the dunes of Tarifa and the beach of Bolonia . The last stretch of road can be considered rural (however this does not present a problem for - rental - cars) and the property is located at 15 minutes drive from Tarifa. La Casita is built in the form of a studio with a large terrace - orientated towards sun down - and has also an outdoor shower. The styling is simple with a Moroccan touch. The views are magnificent and the property has a direct private access to the beach (generally wind protected). The lights of Tanger ( Morocco ) can be seen clearly at night and definitively add a romantic touch to the general pleasant air of rural luxury.

The electricity (220V) is run of batteries (wind- and solar energy) and water comes from springs so La Casita is eco-friendly as is the main house. A BBQ is available and - rest assured - the wine will taste extremely good while watching a beautiful sunset.

On the property are 4 horses (Imperador, Latino, Traficante & Leyla) and three dogs which can be taken out for a ride along the beach or through an impressive pine forest which used to be one big sand dune. During the rides you will be joined by a guide until the owners are convinced of your riding capabilities and you know your way around. The views of Punta Paloma, Bolonia, Africa , the beaches and the mountain ridges will leave you breathless. A ride to Bolonia for drinks can also be booked.

The studio is non-smoking and sleeps 2 (double bed) and a wooden bunk bed can be added if required when booking (then would sleep 2+2). It has a small kitchen and a chimney (Which can add a "cozy" feeling during the winter months).

La Casita Laguna is an ideal hide away for travelers who are looking for tranquility and a special place to stay.
